on 1 December 2019.new laws to improve swimming pool and spa safety came into effect in Victoria.They introduce new registration,inspection and certification requirements for property owners.<\/strong>
As part of the changes,owners are required to register their pool and spa with their local council and have their safety barrier inspected once every four years.<\/strong>
If a Victorian residential pool or spa has a depth of 30cm or more (300mm), it is required to be surrounded by safety barrier.This includes inflatable pools<\/strong><\/p>\n
Children have drowned in portable swimming pools.<\/strong>
Ensure active adult supervision at all time.<\/strong>
Do not leave children unsupervised in or around the pool–keep them within arm’s reach.<\/strong>
